about my work:

In Metro West Daily News, Chris Bergeron writes, “Wineberg seems free of pretense yet sly and sophisticated…” In Artscope, Anne Daley writes, “Wineberg’s voice comes in loud and clear…in artwork that tells a story” And in the Boston Globe, Cate McQuaid says, “Ellen Wineberg shows the light and dark sides of life.”

I draw, paint, teach and run two alternative art galleries outside of Boston; Storefront Art Projects in Watertown which creative coach Pam Simos calls, “a cultural hot spot in the middle of a neighborhood” and The Art Gallery at North Hill which is located in an elegant retirement community in Needham. Both spaces afford group and solo exhibition opportunities to regional artists. Both are well-received and well-reviewed.

I am a past member of Bromfield Gallery and Randall Beck/Kelly Barrette, and my work is in the Danforth Museum, New Britain Museum, DeCordova Museum, Simmons College, Boston Public Library, Dana Farber, Fidelity and many other public and private collections.

I thrive on collaboration, improvisation, conversation and surprise.
